We know it gets more and more difficult every year to find new ways to keep your children entertained during the winter weekends and school holidays. Instead of being stuck inside on a rainy day, you should bring the family to play an escape room at Escape Reality. Bringing your children to Escape Reality will provide them with brand new, exciting experiences that they’ll treasure forever.
Our escape rooms are great fun for all ages, but we believe that players from 12 years and above will get the most out of the escape room experience. At Escape Reality, we tend not to impose age restrictions on our escape games as we believe the adults accompanying the children know them best and which experiences they will enjoy. For example, some children will love to play our gorier rooms, whereas other children would prefer our adventure based rooms. We recommend sticking to the adventure themed rooms, rather than the horror ones – unless your young ones are particularly fond of gore! We leave that decision up to the adults making the booking.
However, it is important to note that for any family bookings, if there is a child under the age of 16 playing the escape game, an adult over the age of 18 must be playing in the room with them.
Our rooms are made up of a variety of puzzle types involving keypads, padlocks and physical problems. If you are bringing younger children along to play the escape rooms, then we recommend starting with our 3* difficulty rooms as an introduction to the games.

We recommend starting with Jungala, District Zero, Legend of the Mummy or Tortuga Pirates as these are our adventure themed 3* difficulty rooms. However, the choice is entirely up to you!
Not only are escape rooms incredibly fun, but they are also beneficial to helping them develop a number of skills! From team working and problem solving, all the way to listening (which we know they usually need some help with!) escape rooms help to develop and utilise several skills that will be beneficial throughout their lives.
Although our escape games are not specifically designed for children, some of our games can be considered as a family friendly escape room. This doesn’t mean that they’re easy, nor does it mean that they are difficult. Escape room puzzles are often hard to define in terms of difficulty, as something that is difficult to decipher for one person could be blatantly obvious to someone else – whether they’re an adult or child. Many players of different ages often tell us that our family-friendly rooms are some of the best escape rooms they’ve ever played!
Don’t worry if you’ve never played an escape room before. Our wonderful Game Masters are on hand to guide you throughout your visit to Escape Reality. Remember, if you do get stuck on any of the puzzles, we have a modern hint system in place so that you can get a bit of help using our iPads.

Although you can play escape games online, it’s a much better and more immersive experience in person. Today’s children spend a lot of their time looking at screens and so working together as a family when playing the escape room in person will feel much more exciting and memorable for the whole family. We use an iPad for our hint system, but it is only required occasionally to receive a hint. Your family will enjoy this incredible bonding experience whilst working together to escape from the room.
We hope your whole family fall in love with the Escape Reality escape rooms experience so you can have many treasured days out together playing our rooms.

They can be immersed into a movie-set quality themed room and let their imagination run wild At Escape Reality, our rooms are designed by our passionate team to be incredibly immersive. Our players will feel like they’ve been transported into a new realm or scenario. Younger players especially will love being able to play with our highly themed props, and older players will feel like kids again! 3. All kids love games, right? Escape rooms are fun for everyone, from children to adults to seniors! Escape rooms truly are fun for the whole family and everyone will love working together to solve puzzles and challenges. 4. Physical, in person activity instead of using screens. Our rooms are a great way for kids to let off some energy as they search high and low for clues, play with props and solve puzzles. 5. Develop transferable and social skills that will help them through life. Our rooms are designed for collaboration between players. They will help your child (and adults!) develop their social skills, including working together as a team, communicating with each other and problem solving.
- Adults should help to guide younger players through the thought processes as they may not understand some of the more difficult puzzles, and may need a little guidance through the puzzle solving process - Allow younger players to get involved with ‘easier’ tasks, such as searching for clues, keys, puzzles so that they don’t feel left out. If they are the ones to find the clues, they will feel as much of a sense of achievement as whoever solves even the most difficult of puzzles. - Don’t take over! Sometimes we see adults getting a bit carried away and letting their competitive nature takeover. In these cases, we sometimes see the adults completing the puzzles whilst dismissing the children’s ideas. Sometimes parents can overcomplicate things, whilst a child may see it simply for what it is due to their different perception. Listen to all ideas and who knows – they might just solve a puzzle that you can’t!
